Kenn Thomas works as a writer, university library archivist,
and as editor and publisher of
Steamshovel Press,
a magazine about parapolitical culture. Nitro News called him "America’s
most loved conspiracy theorist," to which he responded, "What?" Detailed
research and sardonic humor characterize his writing, which spans the gamut of
global parapolitics.
Thomas has written over a dozen books on various conspiracy
topics, most notably The Octopus, about the Inslaw scandal, co-written
with the late Jim Keith; and Maury Island UFO, about the JFK assassination
figure Fred Crisman. (Kenn is the only person to have written a book about this
case). Mr. Thomas’s other JFK books include NASA, Nazis and JFK
and Mind Control, Oswald and JFK. His writings appear in three
anthologies, and two book collections of Steamshovel Press material have
been published.
In 2004, publisher Feral House produced a new edition of
The Octopus, extending the book’s connections to the post 9/11 world and al
Qaeda. Thomas’s latest book, Conspiracy Files, was published by Murdoch
Books in Australia. He has lectured widely on conspiracies for over a decade and
has made many radio and television appearances, including on Art Bell and
Conspiracy Zone. His writing has also appeared in such mainstream venues as the
Washington Post.
Thomas calls his research interest "parapolitics," the study
of conspiracies of all stripes -- from alien abductions and the Illuminati, to
JFK and 9/11. The New Yorker called his work "on the cutting edge" of
conspiracy. His work has become proverbial enough that Baseball Prospectus 2002
described conspiratorial activity in that sport as having "enough fishy behavior
to keep Kenn Thomas swarming for years."
Kenn Thomas' two talks are:
Wilhelm Reich Versus the Flying Saucers -
Saturday 3rd May
Kenn traces the history of the battle between the psychologist Wilhelm Reich and
UFOs in the desert of the American southwest in the 1950s. Reich was a world
renowned intellectual, a protégé of Sigmund Freud, who emigrated to America
after WWII and caused controversy over his work with an energy source he called
orgone. Toward the end of his life, Reich designed technologies to utilise
orgone in combating what he perceived as an alien invasion from space. Thomas
reviews this story, including Reich's correspondence with Albert Einstein and
the documentary proof left behind by Reich of the existence of MJ12, the shadowy
alien interface group.
