Liverpool is well-served by transport links to the rest of the United Kingdom and to the Republic of Ireland. Liverpool John Lennon Airport has frequent flights to and from numerous domestic European and international airports. Liverpool Lime Street is the city's principal railway station, at which trains arrive from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and numerous other British towns and cities. There is also a ferry service to Liverpool from Dublin. The city is also at the end of both the M57 and M62 motorways.
Once you have arrived in the city, the Conference venue is easily reached by all forms of transport. Here are some directions for getting there:
| by train from Liverpool Lime Street | Take the Merseyrail Wirral (loop) line to Liverpool Central and change to the Northern Line. Board a train for Hunts Cross and alight at St Michaels station. On leaving the station, turn left and walk along Southwood Road and Dalmoney Street until you arrive at the dual carriageway, which is Aigburth Road. Use the pelican crossing to cross Aigburth Road and you will find Lark Lane immediately in front of you. Continue walking in the same direction in which you have already been walking along Lark Lane and you will find the Old Police Station on the right-hand side of the Lane, just before the gates to Sefton Park. | |

Take the 82 bus (frequency approximately every 5 minutes) from the stop on Lime Street, or from the stop on Renshaw Street (for Central station) and alight at Park Road/Aigburth Road. Turn left onto Lark Lane and you will find the Old Police Station on the right-hand side of the Lane, just before the gates to Sefton Park. (Bus stops are marked as yellow triangles on these maps). The journey time by bus and walking is approximately 25 minutes. | |
